Welcome High School Students
Do you learn by doing rather than from a textbook? Most of us do too and you've found an excellent school. We teach so many courses with a hands-on approach.
Making College Accessible
As a high school student, Vincennes University provides you with many ways to help make college possible.
- 21st Century Scholars
Income-eligible 7th and 8th graders who enroll in the program and fulfill a pledge of good citizenship to the state are guaranteed the cost of four years of college tuition at any participating public college or university in Indiana. Students who elect to attend a private institution will be awarded an amount comparable to that of a public institution
- Early College
Early College students attain transferable credit at a fraction of the cost they would have paid at traditional public colleges in Indiana. Most importantly, students leave Early College programs with no debt.
- Educational Talent Search
Educational Talent Search identifies and assists individuals from income eligible backgrounds and /or potential first generation students (neither parent has a four- year college degree) who have the potential to succeed in higher education. The program provides academic, career, and financial counseling to its participants and encourages them to graduate from high school and continue on to the postsecondary school of their choice.
- Project ASPIREE
The mission of Vincennes University Project ASPIREE Talent Search program, through outreach programming in financial, personal, career, and academic advisement, is to assist qualified income-eligible and/or first-generation students to re-enter secondary school, complete secondary school and undertake a program of postsecondary education.
- Project EXCEL (Dual Credit)
Project EXCEL, Indiana's first dual credit/concurrent enrollment program, offers transcripted college credit for only $25 per credit hour to eligible high school students who enroll in Vincennes University courses offered at their local high school or career center. Project EXCEL courses are available to high school juniors and seniors who meet all applicable course prerequisite requirements established by Vincennes University and/or Project EXCEL.
- Upward Bound
Operating under a federal grant, Upward Bound identifies students with an interest and the motivation in advancing their education at a two or four year college.
Xmester is an early college summer residential experience on the campus of Vincennes University for rising high school seniors. Participants live on campus in a residence hall for two weeks in June and are able to earn college credit from Vincennes University professors at reduced tuition costs.
