Parent and Family Services Coordinator Elizabeth Hutchinson provides assistance and support to the parents and family members of Vincennes University students. Parents and families are an important part of a student's success. Hutchinson and her co-workers in the Office of Parents and Families Services offer support through a popular e-newsletter, an active social media presence, in-person events, and more. Hutchinson earned a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Southern Indiana before joining the VU family in 2021.

What do you love about working at VU?

“I love the size of VU and the people. The size allows it to feel more like a community, and the people make it a great community to be a part of.”

What advice do you have for students?

“For current students, my advice is to be active on campus. Join the clubs and organizations, get involved, and allow yourselves the entire experience while you’re here. For prospective students, look at everything! Not just majors and classes. Look at life on campus. Ask all the questions you can think of and let your parents and families be a part of the process and experience.”

What is your favorite place in the world?

“My favorite place to be is at home with my family.”

Where would you love to travel next?

“I would love to travel to the mountains for peace and serenity.”

What do you enjoy doing in your free time?

“I enjoy being with my family. I enjoy going to my children’s sporting events and concerts. I also enjoy sewing and baking.”

What is your favorite spot on the Vincennes Campus?

“The Updike Fountain. I love listening to the water run.”
