The 130-acre campus of Vincennes University Jasper is located on a quiet rustic setting south
of Jasper on Indiana Highway 162.
Vincennes University Jasper was introduced cooperatively by
Vincennes University and COHERE, Inc (Committee on Higher Education and Related Events) in February
1970. COHERE, Inc. was a Dubois County citizens action group dedicated to the improvement of
education and cultural enrichment for the area. It was founded in 1960 and dissolved in 1978,
having fulfilled its original mission
In September 1970 Vincennes University Jasper opened its doors
to students in temporary, rented facilities in downtown Jasper. Since then, the Jasper campus has
served thousands of students in Dubois, Spencer, Martin, Perry, Crawford, Harrison, Pike, Orange,
and Lawrence counties in Indiana. New buildings emerged and additional
degrees have been added since this early event.
