Credits Earned

Credits toward completion of a degree will be accepted from postsecondary institutions, which are accredited, for transfer by a regionally accredited association. College-level courses in which grades of C- or higher have been earned will be evaluated for transfer credit. For a transfer course, which is essentially equivalent to a Vincennes University course except for different numbers of credit hours, Vincennes University may accept the hours not applied to a specific course as departmental undistributed elective hours.

Vincennes University transfers credits earned through the College Level Examination Program (CLEP), DANTES, Subject Standardized Tests (DSST) and American College Testing Proficiency Examination Program (ACT PEP). Before taking a test destined to fulfill degree requirements, the student is advised to contact the program coordinator to confirm transferability. After passing the test with a minimum score of C (ACE recommended passing score), an institutional copy of the transcript needs to be sent directly to the Registrar in Vincennes. The address for requesting a CLEP/DANTES transcript is:

Education Testing Service
Contract Representative for DANTES

To have credits transferred from other schools, request an official transcript from that institution be sent directly to the Registrar's office at the VU main campus (address listed below). Student copies or transcripts submitted by the student cannot be accepted. A transcript must be sent from EACH school you have attended. There is no charge for VU transcripts. Mail requests to:

Registrar's Office
1002 North First Street
Vincennes, IN 47591

Vincennes University will evaluate each transcript on an individual basis. The Academic Dean and Registrar reserve the right to accept or reject credit from other institutions. Vincennes University accepts CLEP/DANTES tests. Original transcripts from these services must be forwarded to the address listed above.
