In addition to credit earned by successfully completing courses through
Vincennes University, students may be awarded credit for other education and
experience. Other credit generating options include:
Transfer Credit
Students may receive transfer credit for courses successfully completed at another
post secondary institution. Students should request that an official transcript be sent to
the
Registrar's Office
for evaluation.
Credit for Military Experience
Military experience and training may be evaluated for college credit in accordance
with ACE (American Council of Education) recommendations. Students should request that official
copies of thier military transcripts be forwarded to the
Military Education Program Office
.
Credit by Examination
Students must first enroll in a course and pay the standard tuition and fees. Arrangements

College Level Examination Award Program (CLEP)
Vincennes University will award credit for satisfactory scores on CLEP General Examinations
and Subject Examinations. Vincennes University is an approved CLEP testing center. For more

Dantes Subject Standardized Tests (DSST)
Vincennes University accepts credits earned when students successfully complete
DANTES examinations. VU serves as a test center for DANTES testing. Contact the

Life Experience Credit
Vincennes University offers students opportunities to earn college credits for previous work
experience, training, reading and general life experiences. Earning this credit is made possible
through developing a written portfolio through enrollment in ENGL 125 Portfolio Development. A

Credit for Certification or Training
Vincennes University will evaluate for college credit certification and training
programs approved by labor unions, government agencies, professional and voluntary organizations,
and health care institutions. Training programs that have been evaluated by the American Council on
Education will also be considered for credit when a student submits appropriate
documentation.
