Interlibrary Loan and Document Delivery are services offered to VU students,
faculty and staff whereby materials not owned by Vincennes University may be requested from other
libraries. The costs of these services are free of charge to Vincennes University students, faculty
and staff.
VU-affiliated library users may request ILL in three different ways:
1. Click on the online forms below to submit requests.
2. Users may click the
WorldCat link and search electronically
for items, then select ILL, which then guides users through an online request form.
3. Paper request forms are available at the Shake Library Reference Desk (Vincennes
Campus).
The average length of time for an item to arrive is two weeks but may
be shorter and sometimes considerably longer. Also, although an item may be requested, it may
not be available from any lending libraries and therefore may not be sent for local use. When items
arrive, patrons will be notified that the item is ready to pick up at the Campus Library where
requested. Items should also be returned to same Campus Library.
NOTE: Our local service is subject to the conditions of the
Interlibrary Loan Code of the American Library Association and also to the
regulations of individual libraries. Local patrons must agree to abide by the due date set by the
lending library and be responsible for any damages or loss to the library materials while in their
use.
